Gini Wijnaldum drops phone during Liverpool's Champions League parade and this is what it recorded

Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum and his phone had a lucky escape while on the club's open top bus parade.

The former Newcastle United man played a huge part in his side's journey to Champions League glory this season.

The Dutchman scored twice in the famous comeback win over Barcelona in the semi-final second-leg at Anfield, before playing just over an hour in his side's 2-0 win over Spurs in the final last night.

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi were enough for Jurgen Klopp's side in the huge showdown at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

But while soaking up the party atmosphere on his side's celebratory parade this afternoon, the midfielder dropped his phone while recording a live Instagram story.

But luckily for the 28-year-old, his phone was still in working order when he picked it up, and, as a true professional, continued to broadcast to his adoring fans.

The whole thing was caught on camera in the video above - ending with Gini's beaming smile, a big laugh and a declaration of: "It's still working!"
