Toy company Hasbro will stop producing Cara Dune action figures, according to reports.
The news follows Lucasfilm’s decision to cease working with actor Gina Carano onThe Mandalorian after the actor shared a controversial post on social media, which compared the experience of being a Republican today to that of Jewish people during the Holocaust.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, retailer BigBadToyStore has been forced to cancel pre-orders for the toys because Hasbro is no longer making them.
“Hasbro planned for another production run and we were accepting pre-orders from that production run,” a spokesperson for the retailer told THR. “Due to recent events, Hasbro was no longer approved to produce any more of this figure.”
The retailer also revealed that the Cara Dune figure had been popular with customers. Following its release in 2020, the toy “sold out not long after the inventory was received”.

Carano’s exit from the Star Wars spin-off series was announced together with a statement from a Lucasfilm spokesperson saying that “denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities [is] abhorrent and unacceptable”.
The move has been welcomed by many fans, who have previously campaigned for Carano’s dismissal due to her history of sharing controversial tweets.
Others, however, have defended the actor and claimed that her dismissal is an example of “cancel culture”.
