Gimme him: 1 player for the Jags to steal from the Titans

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be taking on their most disliked rivals in the Tennessee Titans, which makes this the perfect week for another “Gimme him” article where we poach a player from a weekly opponent.

When looking at the Titans’ roster there is talent there to be evaluated when considering they are on top of the AFC South with an 87% chance to make the playoffs, per FiveThirtyEight. Most would say their offense, which currently has the most notable players, is a key reason for that. The unit consists of notables like Jacksonville native Derrick Henry, as well as two solid receivers Corey Davis and A.J. Brown, both of whom would be fine additions.

However, the Jags’ offense isn’t exactly lacking skill players on their end, which brings me to the Titans’ defense. Oddly enough, it’s a group that’s struggled this year and will come into Sunday’s game 25th overall and 28th against the pass. Despite that though, there is one player who has stood out in the trenches and that is defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons.

Simmons, who is only 23 years old, is the highest-graded player on the Titans’ defense with an 85.5 figure, per Pro Football Focus (ranking him 10th at his position). Additionally, his run defense grade of 75.7 and pass-rush grade of 70.3 are pretty respectable figures that fans would easily take over the production Taven Bryan has provided.

Adding a force like Simmons with the surge that Doug Costin and DaVon Hamilton have provided would give the Jags a very dangerous interior rotation, which could also help the production on the edge. When taking in all of these factors, it was a no-brainer to hypothetically add Simmons onto the Jags roster despite the various other choices.

Now, we’d like to hear from you all at home. Who would you snag from this Titans roster?
