Gillian Anderson and Tom Hiddleston productions coming to National Theatre Live at Home

The National Theatre has announced the latest shows to be streamed on YouTube as part of its lockdown programming.

A Streetcar Named Desirestarring Sex Education’s Gillian Anderson will be broadcast on 21 May, with the Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) co-starring in the Young Vic’s 2014 production.

Tom Hiddleston’s 2013 performance of Coriolanusfrom the Donmar Warehouse will stream two weeks later on 4 June.

Also heading to the National Theatre’s YouTube channel is a previously unseen recording of Barber Shop Chronicles, which will broadcast on 14 May, followed by political comedy This House on 28 May.

All productions are screened at 7pm, with the recordings available on demand for the following seven days.

Launched in April, the National Theatre Live at Home programme has kept theatre fans entertained during coronavirus lockdown by streaming full length productions for free while suggesting viewers donate to the National or their own local theatres.

Productions including Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller’s Frankensteinand Tamsin Grieg’s Twelfth Nighthave been broadcast in the past month.
