Gigi Hadid has revealed she was a "few months" pregnant while she was working around the world for Fashion Month, which ran from mid-February to early March.
The 25-year-old model confirmed that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik last month.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Hadid addressed how rumours that she was pregnant had been circulating that week.
“Obviously we wish we could have announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support,” she said.
Now, in an Instagram Live with Maybelline, the model has revealed further details about her pregnancy.
Hadid was discussing the shape of her face with makeup artist Erin Parsons and addressed speculations that she has had surgical fillers on her face.
“People think I do fillers on my face and that’s why my face is round, it’s like, I’ve had the cheeks since I was born,” she said before referencing how speculations mounted in February.”
“Especially Fashion Month, when I was like already like a few months preggo, you know?” she said.
Hadid walked for a number of high-profile fashion brands during Fashion Month, including Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu and Chanel.
The model is currently isolating with Malik and her family in Pennsylvania and recently celebrated her 25th birthday, which she documented via several Instagram posts and stories.
Days after marking the milestone, Hadid confirmed the news that she was pregnant.
The confirmation from Hadid herself came after her mother, Yolanda, said that the rumours her daughter was expecting her first child with Malik were true.
“It is going well, but we are still in shock that our little secret has been leaked to the press,” she told Dutch broadcasting station RTL Boulevard.
“Of course, we are thrilled. I can't wait to become a grandmother.”
