Gigi Hadid has defended her fashion taste after her street style came under scrutiny from fans on Tuesday.
The fashion model, 24, took to Twitter to respond to a follower who took a dislike to a snap of her dressed-down in New York.
The outfit she sported in the Big Apple was a pair of gym leggins teamed with a fine-knit sweater underneath a black padded jacket.
She completed her off-duty look with white trainers from her collaboration with sportswear brand Reebok.
According to E! news an offended fan shared a scathing, now deleted tweet, on Twitter that read: "she’s such a natural beauty… idk what happened to her iconic street style tho.”
They illustrated the comment with a picture of Gigi in the casual ensemble.
Another social media account then reportedly responded in another now-deleted tweet, “What happened is called Mimi,” referring to Gigi's fashion stylist, Mimi Cuttrell.
Defending her fashion choices, the Californina native wrote: "I like what I wear and wear it for that reason. It’s not about a stylist, it’s how I’m choosing to express myself."
She continued: "Your opinion isn’t going to change that. Those of you who feel this way should focus your energy on praising those whose style u love. Peace."
Gigi's tweet was met by praise from some of her loyal fans who shared her viewpoint on fashion.
"This is relatable @GiGiHadid I’m all about sneakers and jackets," added another.
Another fan of her relaxed look typed: "Good for you, GiGi!!! I love your style!!!"
