Gigi Hadid has thanked fans for their well wishes and support as she confirmed reports that she and Zayn Malik are expecting their first child together.
The 25-year-old supermodel said her pregnancy was a “nice silver lining” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Reports surfaced in the US this week that Hadid was pregnant, but it was not official until now.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon for his The Tonight Show, Hadid said: “Obviously, we wished we could have announced it on our own terms but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support.”
Hadid added: “Especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and be together and really experience it day by day.”
The model also revealed she has been craving bagels while pregnant.
Earlier, her mother Yolanda Hadid told Dutch outlet RTL Boulevard the baby is expected in September.
"Of course we are so excited," the 56-year-old reportedly said. "I'm excited to become a Oma in September especially after I lost my mom so recently.
"But this is the beauty of life: one soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed."
Los Angeles-born Hadid and Bradford-born former One Direction singer Malik, 27, have been dating on and off since late 2015.
