A highly rated Bristol restaurant will finally be able to show off its new look when it welcomes diners inside next month.
The Giggling Squid in Clifton Village now features plenty of bright features and floral displays after its transformation, with a nod to Thai ingredients from sea and land adorning the walls.
Although the refurbishment was carried out in December, the restaurant has not been able to host guests since its completion as Bristol was moved into Tier 3 just days later, followed by a national lockdown.
The reopening on May 17 will coincide with the launch of a new menu packed full of bold flavours and showcasing Thailand’s exotic ingredients, including the vibrant vegan butternut boat and tantalising three flavours sea bass.
A spokesperson for Giggling Squid - which is currently open for outside service - said the new-and-improved restaurant will be a "feast for the eyes and the taste buds".
Thai-born Pranee Laurillard, who runs Giggling Squid with her husband Andy, is looking forward to unveiling the new look.
"We’re so pleased to be able to give a refresh to our much loved Clifton restaurant," she said.
"It’s so important to me that people feel welcomed and at home in our restaurants.
"It should be a relaxed experience, no standing on ceremony - just having a good time, over something tasty.
"We love being part of the local community here and can’t wait to show guests our new look."
There will be "stringent health and safety policies in place" to ensure customers and staff are kept safe when Giggling Squid reopens, but guests will "still receive the same great food, service and atmosphere the restaurant chain is known and loved for".
Giggling Squid, which has a rating of 4.5 / 5 on Google from 678 reviews, is located at 34 Princess Victoria St, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 4BZ.
