Gigabit trancoding: a revolution for broadcasters - video

Kevin Wirick, Motorola's VP and general manager of video processing solutions talks about the Motorola GT-3 Multi-Gigabit ABR Transcoder.

It supports up to 16 outputs per input program and requires only a fraction of the headend space that alternative transcoding solutions require. Supporting the full set of SD and HD inputs and outputs, it can deliver video to a complete range of display devices in the market, from TVs to tablets and smartphones. It breaks the gigapixel barrier, greatly increasing video processing throughput compared to existing ABR transcoder solutions, lowering the cost of providing a great consumer experience.
