Anyone in need of a little Dutch courage to cope with the chills this Halloween could find the answer at a family event at Gibside this October.
The National Trust attraction near Gateshead is hosting a Beer and a Fright Night on two evenings this week and, on top of the all-ages entertainment, the boozy option of themed ale is set to add extra appeal for the adults.
The pre- Halloween chiller will take place in Gibside's beer garden and is also set to feature themed entertainment including face-painting and a magician performing spooky magic plus live music and street food from local traders.

And it's hoped that guests of all ages will dress to impress as there are will be a fancy dress competition too.
The Beer and a Fright Night will runs on October 25 and 26 from 6pm-9pm. Tickets cost £3 for adults and £2 for children.

Gibside has more on offer for youngsters this Halloween and will be celebrating with a Pumpkin Trail during the October half-term school holidays.
Running daily, 10am-4pm, until November 4, the fun will begin with children picking up a pumpkin trail sheet from visitor reception and following a map along a woodland trail to find a collection of scary giant pumpkins.
As they look out for pumpkins, they can pass en route the likes of den-building and the nature playscape area.
