Giants WR Golden Tate says he ‘definitely would have’ played for the Titans

It wasn’t long ago that wide receiver Golden Tate found his name linked to the Tennessee Titans.

According to the current New York Giants wideout, and Hendersonville, Tennessee native, he flirted with the notion of playing back in his home state.

“I was definitely to coming back home and playing in front of the home crowd and doing great things in the community,” Tate told The Tennessean. “I definitely would have done it. It just didn’t happen that way.”

He has made several stops in the NFL after being selected by the Seattle Seahawks out of Notre Dame in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

In addition to Seattle, Tate has been on the roster for Detroit, Philadelphia and now New York.

Tate won’t be coming back to Tennessee any time soon though, as New York isn’t scheduled to play the Titans until 2022, the final year of Tate’s four-year deal.

What happens after that four years still remains to be seen, though.

“That’s always kind of been a dream to play for the home team. That would be fun. We’ll see what happens after the four-year contract that I have.”
