Giants waive WR Da’Mari Scott

The New York Giants made a minor transaction on Wednesday, announcing that wide receiver Da’Mari Scott had been waived.

Scott, who initially signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Fresno State in 2018 and later spent some time with the Buffalo Bills, was claimed off of waivers by the Giants in late July.

Over the course of the summer and through two preseason games, Scott has had his ups and downs, but has performed relatively well overall, hauling in two of his four targets for 47 yards.

With Scott being waived, it could indicate that rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) has returned to 100 percent and is poised to make his NFL debut on Thursday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.

No corresponding roster move has been announced alongside of Scott’s release, leaving the Giants with 89 men on their 90-man roster.
