Giants vs. Redskins Player of the Game: Jabrill Peppers

On Sunday, the New York Giants returned to East Rutherford and got their first home win of the 2019 season against the Washington Redskins.

Through the first three games, the Giants defense had issues stopping every opponent they had faced, but against the Redskins, they stepped their game up in a big way, and Jabrill Peppers was right in the middle of it.

Peppers had six total tackles, one of which prevented a Washington score. He also had a touchdown on defense too — a pick-six interception of Haskins, which was a score that ultimately put the game out of reach, 24-3.

Peppers added two pass defensed, on of which prevented a touchdown, to go along with his aforementioned tackles, pick and a touchdown.

The guy who Peppers ultimately replaced on defense, Landon Collins, was on the other side of things on Sunday. He recorded nine total tackles, but didn’t have quite the impact on the game like Peppers had on the game, being victimized by Evan Engram at one point and being called for a costly penalty.

In total, the Giants defense had four picks on the game — three against Dwayne Haskins — and held Washington to just 176 yards of offense.
