Giants vs. Jets Player of the Game: Reggie Ragland

For the first time since the 2019 season, fans were allowed into MetLife Stadium for a football game. Granted, it was only a preseason game between the New York Giants and New York Jets, but it’s still football being played in New Jersey with fans in the building.

Luckily for the Giants, they are glad that the annual “Snoopy Bowl” was only a preseason game, as they lost to the Jets, 12-7, Saturday night.

The Giants didn’t have much star power — between a lot of the starters not being active for the game and the team not having many big plays to cheer for.

One player did stand out for the Giants, however. And he came from the defensive side of the ball, where Patrick Graham’s unit did fairly well.

Reggie Ragland, who came to the Giants in the offseason as a free agent, was one of the most impressive Giants on Saturday night.

Ragland ended the night with four tackles (two solo) and one pass defensed.

Ragland seemed to be all over the field for the Giants defense in the first half and was flying to the ball. If that is a sign of things to come for Ragland, then the Giants have a really good linebacker on their hands that can help in 2021.

Ragland, a former second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, spent last season with the Detroit Lions before signing a one-year deal with the Giants in the offseason.
