Giants vs. Jets Player of the Game: Daniel Jones

The world waited nearly four months to see what quarterback Daniel Jones could do on an NFL field after being controversially selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

In the New York Giants’ preseason debut against the New York Jets in the annual “Snoopy Bowl,” Jones showed a brief glimpse of what life may be like with him as the team’s starting quarterback.

On the one drive in which he appeared, entering in relief of Eli Manning, Jones went 5-of-5 for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Jones’ touchdown pass was a 12-yard strike in the back of the end zone to Bennie Fowler.

During the drive, Jones looked composed and showed off the arm strength everyone saw during training camp.

In a short span, the fans who were once heavily against the Giants taking Jones with their sixth overall pick back in April suddenly are starting to cheer for him.

While Manning will still be the starter come Week 1, seeing Jones play like that will certainly get the fan base excited for whenever he does take over as the starting quarterback of the team.
