The Giants traded back into the first round late Thursday night to make a third pick in the first round: Georgia CB Deandre Baker.
The deal cost Dave Gettleman picks No. 37 (second round), No. 132 (fourth) and No. 142 (fifth). The Giants had obtained the later two picks from the Saints and Lions in trades last season for Eli Apple and Damon Harrison, so both of those ex-Giants factored as one-third of this deal.
Baker, 21, a first-team All-American who won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back, stands at 5-11, 193 pounds and ran a 4.52 40-yard dash at the NFL combine.
He started 13 games and recorded 40 tackles, two interceptions and a team-high 10 pass breakups last seasons for the Bulldogs.
