Giants trade Olivier Vernon to Browns for Kevin Zeitler, swap draft picks

The New York Giants and Cleveland Browns are completing a rare swap of high-priced veterans who recently broke the bank as free agents.

Offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler is headed to the Big Apple, while pass rusher Olivier Vernon will make his way to Cleveland:

The two teams are also swapping Day 3 draft picks in the deal, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo:

Both players have failed to play up to the lofty expectations of the big-money deals they signed on the open market with their respective teams recently. Perhaps a change of scenery for both will help elevate their performance.
