The Eli Apple era in New York is over.
The Giants have traded the former first-rounder to the Saints, the team announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Giants will get a fourth-round pick in the 2019 draft and a seventh-rounder in 2020.
Apple was the 10th pick of the 2016 NFL draft out of Ohio State. He had one interception and 20 passes defensed in 30 games (23 starts).
His tenure was marked by controversy, including a public feud with safety Landon Collins toward the end of the 2017 season.
ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the trade.
