Giants to sign kicker Robbie Gould

The Giants will sign kicker Robbie Gould to handle their kicking duties Sunday with Josh Brown not traveling with the team to London after new details emerged about his alleged domestic abuse, a source confirmed. Gould is flying to London to meet the team in advance of its game against the Rams.

Gould has a chance to stick with the Giants if the team parts ways with Brown, and co-owner John Mara said on WFAN radio the team will gather more information before making a decision on Brown's future.

Gould, 34, had spent his entire career with the Bears before joining the Giants, and has converted 85.4 percent of field goal attempts in his career. He went 33-for-39 in 2015 with a long of 55 yards, but the Bears released him before the season opener with Gould set to receive a reported $3 million salary.

The Giants employed Randy Bullock for the season opener against the Cowboys with Brown serving a one-game suspension, but went a different route this time. Bullock missed an extra point that day.

Gould reportedly will sign a pro-rated, one-year deal.
