Greater Western Sydney will undergo a "restructure, not a rebuild" as Jeremy Cameron became the latest Giant to request an AFL trade.
The star forward, who has been at GWS since their inception, is determined to play with grand finalists Geelong next year.
It continues a concerning exodus at the expansion club, with Cameron joining defenders Zac Williams and Aidan Corr and midfielder Jackson Hately in wanting out since the Giants' season ended last month.
After playing in the 2019 grand final, it has been a dramatic fall from the grace for GWS this year as they missed the top-eight.
Giants chief executive Dave Matthews admitted changes would be made to ensure the club recovered quickly from the key departures.
"I still think it's probably more restructure than rebuild," he told 3AW.
"I think our list strategy has been smart and we've generally shown a good track record of being able to retain the talent we've got.
"I think you'll find he's (Cameron) glowing on the club. He's helped build it.
"He's certainly enjoyed his time at the Giants and I think he has nothing but good things to say about us."
Matthews said GWS was working against an "inherent bias" in trying to keep players in the harbour city and away from Victoria.
"I think the market differences (in Sydney) is one that we've just got to have a mature discussion about," he said.
"But it tends not to be too mature if we throw the acronym COLA (cost of living allowance) about."
With Cameron departing, only Phil Davis, Callan Ward, Nick Haynes, Stephen Coniglio, Toby Greene will be left on the Giants' list from their inaugural season in 2012.
