Giants to re-sign CB Tony Lippett

The New York Giants are re-signing cornerback Tony Lippett to a one-year deal, reports Mike Garafolo of NFL Network and is confirmed by Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Lippett spent the 2018 season with the Giants after signing with the team during the regular season on Oct. 25. He only appeared in three games with the Giants during the regular season, registering one pass defended.

The 26-year-old didn’t see much playing time with Big Blue during the 2018 season. He played just 24 snaps on the defensive side of the ball and 11 snaps on special teams.

The 6-foot-3, 192-pound cornerback was originally a fifth-round pick with the Miami Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Lippett joins a cornerback room that will be led by Janoris Jenkins and Sam Beal.
