Giants signing RB Jashaun Corbin off Panthers practice squad

The New York Giants are taking back their running back.

According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the Giants are signing Jashaun Corbin off the Carolina Panthers practice squad. Corbin, who inked on with the Panthers back on Aug. 30, will now rejoin Big Blue as a member of their active roster.

The six-foot, 215-pounder broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Giants last spring. Before his jump to the pros, the Rockledge, Fla. native began his collegiate career at Texas A&M University in 2018. Over two seasons at College Station, he rushed for 483 yards and two scores on 96 attempts.

He then transferred to Florida State University for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. There, he recorded 1,288 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 224 carries.

Corbin was the second-leading rusher for the Giants during preseason play this past summer, amassing 51 yards on 16 totes.

His move back to the Big Apple now puts Carolina’s practice squad at 15 members.
