Giants sign two more tryout players to contracts

The New York Giants have signed defensive back Tenny Adewusi and defensive end Alex Jenkins as free agents, the team announced Sunday. Both were brought in as tryout players by the Giants for their rookie minicamp this weekend.

Adewusi (6-foot-1, 200 pounds) was born in Nigeria, hails from Avenel, N.J. and played his college ball at Delaware. Adewusi played quarterback at Colonia High and switched to defensive back upon arrival at Delaware. He came into his own as a senior, recording 38 tackles and seven pass breakups.

At Delaware’s pro day, Adewusi ran 4.51-second 40-yard dash with a 33.5 vertical leap, a 10-1 broad jump, and benched pressed 225 pounds 16 times.

Jenkins (6-foot-6, 270 pounds) is a defensive end out of Incarnate Word who was born in Bath, England.

Jenkins originally came into the league with the Saints but was cut by the team before the 2018 season. He will have a chance to make the Giants’ roster after having spent a year in the NFL already through the league’s International Player Pathway program.

Defensive end Nate Harvey, who the Giants signed after the draft as a free agent has been placed on Reserve/Injured list after suffering a non-contact knee injury at minicamp.
