Giants sign former AAF defensive back Henre’ Toliver

The Alliance for American Football (AAF) may now be defunct, but more than 30 of their players have been signed by an NFL club since they went under.

Defensive back Henre’ Toliver can now be added to that list.

The New York Giants announced on Thursday that they have signed Toliver, who had also previously spent time with the Indianapolis Colts.

Toliver, who signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft, made 36 starts in college with the Arkansas Razorbacks, recording 31 passes defensed and eight interceptions.

Despite a strong college career, Toliver took a hit at the 2018 NFL Combine when he checked it at 6-foot, 188 pounds and 4.63 40-yard time.

After a cup of coffee with the Colts, Toliver joined the Salt Lake Stallions where he was coached by Dennis Erickson.

With the Giants, Toliver will join a rather thing secondary where major help is needed at cornerback. He’ll compete on the back-end of the roster, looking for a spot as a deep reserve or on the team’s practice squad.
