The New York Giants continued to augment their roster on Friday, agreeing to terms with free agent defensive lineman Olsen Pierre.
Here’s three quick things to know about the 6-foot-5, 293 pound four-year veteran:

Early career
Pierre was born in Rahway , New Jersey in 1991 and attended Rahway High School where he earned All-State honors as a senior. He had 86 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks.
Pierre spent one season at Fork Union Military Academy prior to attending Miami and recorded 12 sacks. At Miami, he started 36 games, recording 96 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He had nine tackles for a loss with two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery while defending six passes. Pierre went undrafted in 2015.

UDFA with the Bears
Pierre began his NFL career with the Chicago Bears, signing as an undrafted free agent after the 2015 draft and made it to final cuts at the end of training camp. The Arizona Cardinals signed Pierre to their practice squad that October.

Tenure with the Cardinals
In 2017, Pierre played in 14 games for the Cardinals’ sixth-ranked defense making seven starts racking up 32 tackles (10 for losses), 5.5 sacks (2nd most on the team), two passes defensed, one forced fumble, three QB pressures and 10 QB hits.
Pierre has played in 24 NFL games and has 42 tackles (24 solo, 10 for a loss) with 5.5 sacks, a forced fumble and 2 passes defensed. He injured a knee in December of last year and finished the season on injured reserve.
