Giants select Jaylen Waddle in latest mock draft from Maurice Jones-Drew

Tired of mock drafts yet? We concur that it’s getting monotonous but there’s still a few weeks before the actual NFL draft and anything is possible.

A mock draft by former NFL running back and current NFL.com analyst Maurice Jones-Drew has an interesting twist to it. MJD has the Washington Football Team trading up into the No. 9 overall slot, meaning the NFC East teams will be selecting 9th, 10th (Dallas), 11th (New York Giants) and 12th (Philadelphia) in this draft.

The WFT would then take North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance with the ninth pick followed by Dallas selecting Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II. MJD believes the Tide run will continue with the Giants drafting wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and the Eagles grabbing his teammate, DeVonta Smith at No. 12.

Waddle gives the Giants a speedy field-stretcher who will open things up for Kenny Golladay and Evan Engram. The Alabama prospect adds return ability, as well as the juice to take a slant to the house, something Big Blue’s been missing since OBJ.

True. The Giants, with the addition of Golladay and then Waddle, would give them a formidable cadre of weapons along with running back Saquon Barkley, Engram, tight end Kyle Rudolph and wideouts Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton and Dante Pettis.

Most fans would be excited with this pick but others would be hoping for a defensive stud. You only get one pick at a time, by the way.
