The New York Giants selected UCLA cornerback Darnay Holmes with the 110th pick in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Cornerback was not necessarily a need after drafting four over the past two years and signing Carolina’s James Bradberry in free agency last month, but as they say, you can never have enough corners.
Here are five things to know about Holmes:

Small, but fast
Holmes (5’10”, 195) ran a 4.48 40 at this year’s NFL Combine.

Honorable mention All-Pac-12 twice
In 2019, Holmes started in each of the 10 games he dressed, sitting out the first two games due to injury. He led the Bruins with two interceptions and was credited with six pass defensed. Holmes was named honorable mention All-Pac-12 in both 2018 and 2019.

Pac-12 pass defense leader
Holmes had multiple tackles in six games, with a season-high 10 tackles at USC. He tied for 12th in the Pac-12 in passes defensed (0.73).

Incredibly intelligent
Holmes graduated from UCLA in two and a half years with a degree in African American Studies.

NFL blood in his veins
Holmes is the son of Darick Holmes, a running back who played for the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts from 1995-1999.
