Giants’ Saquon Barkley sent for X-rays, two others injured

The New York Giants suffered injuries to three starters during Sunday’s loss to the New York Jets.

Primarily, running back Saquon Barkley was “banged up” was sent for x-rays after the game. No one would comment on the type of injury he suffered.

Cornerback Janoris Jenkins left the game in the fourth quarter with a concussion and was replaced by Sam Beal, who was making his NFL debut.

The Giants came into the game with center Jon Halapio (hamstring) and right tackle Mike Remmers (back) inactive. In the second quarter against the Jets on Sunday, left tackle Nate Solder was knocked out for the game with a concussion and did not return. He was replaced by Eric Smith, who got steamrolled several times.

With a bye week upcoming, the Giants will have an opportunity to rest these players, but it will still be worth keeping an eye on once the team returns to East Rutherford.
