Giants’ Saquon Barkley getting solid play in NFL prop betting

Not much is expected of the 2019 New York Giants in the way of setting records to leading the league in any particular category. BetOnline.ag has the Giants’ total win line set at six games, which is only one game better than their 5-11 finish last year.

If you believe the Giants can win more than six games this season, you will $120 for every $100 you bet. If you feel they will win less than six games, your return will be $100 for every $140 you lay out.

Not a positive sign either way at the moment.

As for individual prop bets, second-year running back Saquon Barkley is a 5/1 favorite to lead the league in total yards from scrimmage over Carolina Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey, who is listed at 6/1. Barkley led the NFL in this category last season with 2,028 yards.

Barkley is tied for second-favorite with New Orleans Saints’ Alvin Kamara to lead the league in regular season touchdowns at 7/1, behind the Los Angeles Rams’ Todd Gurley (13/2). Barkley finished with 15 touchdown last season, tied with Pittsburgh Steelers’ Antonio Brown and behind Gurley and Kamara.

Eli Manning is getting very little play in the quarterback prop bet realm. He is 150/1 to lead the NFL in passer rating, a stat he’s never come close to leading the league in. Eli is 100/1 to lead the league in touchdown passes. His season high is 35, in 2015. Eli finished one behind Tom Brady for the league lead that year, tied with Blake Bortles, Carson Palmer and Cam Newton.

Manning is 14/1 to lead the NFL in interceptions thrown. something he’s done three times over his 15-year career but hasn’t been anywhere near the top of the league since 2013, when he tossed 27. He hasn’t had more than 14 in a season since.
