Giants’ Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram banged up in their return from injury

The New York Giants came out of their game with the Arizona Cardinals basically unscathed injury-wise, with nothing more then their pride hurt.

That doesn’t mean they didn’t have any nicks, though. Tight end Evan Engram was poked in the eye by Arizona defensive end Terrell Suggs int he third quarter and was forced from the field in obvious pain. There was no hands-to-the-face penalty called on Suggs.

Engram was able to return to the game but was not targeted in the passing game. He had just one catch for six yards and had dropped a wide open opportunity in the first half. And all he got for his struggles was a swollen shiner.

Running back Saquon Barkley, in his first game back from a high ankle sprain, rushed for 72 yards on 18 attempts. There was a scare int he second half when Barkley hobbled off the field, with many suspecting he re-injured the ankle.

Barkley returned shortly afterward and helped the Giants march 82 yards on eight plays for a touchdown, which he scored on a 7-yard run.
