A somewhat low hit from New York Giants safety Jabrill Peppers left Washington QB Kyle Allen on the ground in pain, with a dislocated ankle in the first half of the game on Sunday. The hit completed a sack for Peppers, who said after the game that he was simply just trying to bring the QB down, and there was no ill-intent there.
Watching a replay, which you can do at your own peril, you can see Peppers’ leg whip behind him and catch Allen in the leg, which is what ended up causing the injury. According to Peppers, he was not intentionally whipping his leg, and he apologized to Allen after it happened.
Washington coach Ron Rivera echoed the same sentiment after the game, saying that it was just a football play that ended badly.

In a contact sport like football, these things happen sometimes, and it’s nobodies fault. Credit to Peppers for apologizing, that’s a very respectable thing to do.
