Giants ride into Week 5 without a practice squad elevation

The New York Giants typically elevate a practice squad player or two prior to their upcoming game, but that was not the case on Saturday as they ready themselves for a Week 5 battle against the Dallas Cowboys.

Despite an open spot on their roster after losing linebacker Oshane Ximines (shoulder) to injured reserve, the Giants chose to forego a practice squad promotion.

That would appear to be positive news for safety Jabrill Peppers (ankle) and defensive back Adrian Colbert (neck), both of whom are listed as questionable. The same could be said for linebacker Kyler Fackrell (neck), who is also questionable.

There was a belief that perhaps the Giants would activate linebacker David Mayo (knee) from injured reserve after they started his 21-day window earlier this week, but that, too, did not happen.

Instead, barring a change early on Sunday morning, the Giants appear ready to roll into Dallas with a 52-man roster.
