Giants release statement on passing of Broncos owner Pat Bowlen

Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, who recused the team from the brink of bankruptcy to become one of the NFL’s all-time winningest owners, passed away on Thursday at the age of 75 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Bowlen’s passing was felt league-wide, including in East Rutherford, where New York Giants co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch expressed their deepest condolences.

“The Giants organization and the Mara and Tisch families extend our deepest condolences to the Bowlen family and the Denver Broncos,” a statement from the team read.

“Pat’s vision and leadership were invaluable to the growth and success of the National Football League.

“Under his guidance, the Broncos enjoyed tremendous success, and his impact on the franchise will endure for years to come.

His commitment to the city of Denver and the Broncos reflected his competitive spirit and appreciation for those who have allowed out league to thrive — the fans.

“As we mourn his loss, we celebrate the great accomplishments of Pat Bowlen.”

The entirety of Giants Nation expresses their condolence to the Broncos, the city of Denver and Bowlen’s family.
