Giants re-sign WR Cody Latimer

The New York Giants may be moving forward without Odell Beckham Jr., but many faces in their wide receiver room will remain the same. And that now includes Cody Latimer.

Latimer, an unrestricted free agent, announced via social media late on Sunday night that he had re-signed with the Giants and would be back to finish what he started in 2018.

The 26-year-old Latimer played well early last season, hauling in 11 receptions for 190 yards and one touchdown through six games as a reserve, but landed on injured reserve (IR) after suffering a hamstring strain in a Week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

A quality special teams player, Latimer also returned five kickoffs for 123 yards last season.

Latimer will likely return to a similar role in 2019 behind projected starters Golden Tate, who signed a four-year deal with the Giants last week, Sterling Shepard and Corey Coleman, who has been tendered at his original round (Round 1).
