Giants re-sign Tuzar Skipper to practice squad

The New York Giants made a linebacker swap earlier this week when they signed free agent Deone Bucannon and waived Tuzar Skipper in a corresponding move.

However, Skipper didn’t have to go far.

After clearing waivers, Skipper is on his way back to East Rutherford, where he’ll take the practice field on Thursday after being re-signed to the Giants’ practice squad.

Skipper was initially claimed off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers in early August and went on to appear in six games for Big Blue before his temporary release, recording six tackles, 0.5 sacks and a fumble recovery against the Minnesota Vikings.

A popular young player, the Giants were actually lucky to get Skipper back and that likely stemmed from their willingness to play him.

Although Skipper resides on the practice squad now, don’t be surprised to see him promoted to the 53-man roster again prior to the end of the season.
