Giants protect WR Dante Pettis, three others

The New York Giants announced their practice squad protections ahead of a Week 4 game with the New Orleans Saints and for the first time, wide receiver Dante Pettis is among them.

Previously, the Giants had been regularly protecting wide receiver/kick returner C.J. Board, but he was signed to the 53-man roster last week.

With Sterling Shepard (hamstring), Darius Slayton (hamstring) and Kenny Golladay (hip) all hurting, it makes sense that Pettis would not only be protected but be potentially activated come Sunday.

In addition to Pettis, the Giants also protected offensive linemen Korey Cunningham and Jonotthan Harrison, and defensive tackle David Moa.

Harrison, who was activated last Sunday, is a first-time protection. For Cunningham, it’s his second consecutive week being protected, while this is the fourth week in a row the Giants have protected Moa.
