Giants place Nate Ebner on IR, sign Chris Myarick from practice squad

The New York Giants have placed veteran defensive back and special teams ace, Nate Ebner, on injured reserve with a knee injury. He will miss at least three games before he’s eligible to return.

Meanwhile, with tight ends Kyle Rudolph (ankle) and Kaden Smith (knee) both ailing, the team decided to sign tight end Chris Myarick off of their practice squad.

Myarick has appeared in four games for the Giants this season, taking 21 offensive snaps. He has drawn one target, but has no receptions.

With a spot open on their practice squad, the Giants have re-signed tight end Jake Hausmann to the reserve unit nearly three weeks after terminating his contract. It’s the third time he’s been released and then re-signed this season.

The 24-year-old Hausmann was originally signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted rookie out of Ohio State back in April. He was waived by the team on August 6 and claimed by the Giants a day later.

Hausmann was released as a part of final cuts but immediately signed to the Giants’ practice squad. He was the team’s highest-graded preseason rookie.

Finally, the Giants also signed tight end Deon Yelder to their practice squad.
