Giants open as 7-point road underdogs vs. Lions

The New York Giants (2-5) have opened as seven-point road underdogs for their Week 8 game against the Lions in Detroit (2-3-1), according to BetMGM. The over/under is 48.5 and the money line has opened at Giants +240, Lions -304.

Both team have lost three straight games. The Giants fell to the Arizona Cardinals, 27-21, on Sunday. The Lions, after tying the Cardinals in their season opener defeated the Chargers and Eagles, but then lost two close games to Kansas City and Green Bay. On Sunday, the Lions lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 42-30, at home.

Detroit has covered the point spread in four of their six games this year. The Giants have covered just twice in their seven contests.

TeamRankings.com ranks the Giants at No. 29 on their power rankings scale. Detroit is ranked 22nd overall.

There is a stark contrast in the two teams. The Giants have been a weak first half team while the Lions have had issues collapsing in the second half of games.
