Giants officially re-sign long-snapper Zak DeOssie

It was expected and now it’s official: The New York Giants have re-signed long-time long-snapper Zak DeOssie to a one-year deal.

The 34-year-old DeOssie, who initially entered the league as a fourth-round linebacker in 2007, has been a vital part of the Giants’ special teams unit and has carved out a niche as their long-snapper.

Not only has DeOssie been a big part of the team’s special teams unit, but has also served as a long-time captain for the team. He is well-respected in the locker-room and among players across the league.

DeOssie, whose father, Steve, also played for the Giants in his career, has played in every game for New York with the exception of just four throughout his career. Those came back in 2015 when he ended the season on injured reserve (IR) due to a wrist injury.
