Giants nearly bottom out in latest USA TODAY power rankings

The New York Giants fell to 0-2 on the season following a Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium last weekend, and as a result, they very nearly bottomed out in the latest USA TODAY power rankings.

The Giants fell two spots to No. 31 overall — their low water mark of the season and their lowest ranking in several years.

Only Miami has worse turnover differential than Big Blue’s minus-four, and New York has yet to generate even one takeaway.

Not only are the Miami Dolphins the sole team with a worse turnover differential than the Giants, they are also the only team ranked lower than the Giants on this latest list, checking in at No. 32 overall.

Comparatively, the Washington Redskins fell one spot to No. 29 overall, while the Philadelphia Eagles fell two spots to No. 12 overall and the Dallas Cowboys climbed four spots to No. 3 overall.

The 2-0 New England Patriots remain in the No. 1 spot, of course, with the Kansas City Chiefs checking in at No. 2.

And in the off chance any of you reading this care, the New York Jets fell seven spots to No. 28 overall.
