Giants nearly bottom out in latest USA TODAY power rankings

Expectations weren’t high for the New York Giants entering the 2019 season, so it should come as little surprise that even more pessimism surrounds the team following a blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

After opening the year at No. 26 in the USA TODAY power rankings, the Giants slipped three spots to No. 29 overall entering Week 2.

Gotta feel for QB Eli Manning to some degree. No matter what he does, just feels like two-time Super Bowl MVP is on very borrowed time.

The only teams that fared worse than the Giants were the Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins, respectively.

Meanwhile, if you’re into comparing, the Washington Redskins checked in at No. 28 overall, the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 10 overall and the Dallas Cowboys at No. 7 overall.

The New England Patriots sit in their familiar perch at No. 1 overall.
