The New York Giants have voted and their 2019 team captains have officially been named. Among them is sophomore running back Saquon Barkley, who is clearly a natural fit.
In total, the Giants will have seven team captains this year and they are as follows:
Offense: Eli Manning, Nate Solder and Saquon Barkley
Defense: Alec Ogletree and Antoine Bethea
Special Teams: Zak DeOssie and Michael Thomas
For Manning, this represents his 13th consecutive season as a team captain. DeOssie checks in just behind him with nine consecutive seasons having been named a captain, while Ogletree, Solder and Thomas are captains for the second consecutive year.
Bethea, who was signed in free agency this past offseason, and Barkley are first-time team captains.
