Giants name rookie Daniel Jones starting QB

The Eli Manning era is over in the Big Apple.

Just two weeks into the regular season, the New York Giants have officially named rookie first-round pick Daniel Jones their new starting quarterback:

The No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, Jones was arguably the most highly criticized pick of the entire draft, as many believed there were other prospects more worthy of that selection. But just two games into his rookie year, Jones has already impressed the Giants enough to unseat a two-time Super Bowl MVP as the starter.

Injuries at wide receiver could limit Jones’ ability to shine in the short-term, but the Giants are clearly making a move to usher in a new era after an 0-2 start. Manning gave the franchise some memorable moments and tons of success, but the future in New York begins now.
