Giants, Mike Remmers share mutual interest, will ‘stay in touch’

From Thursday night into Friday morning, the New York Giants hosted free agent offensive lineman Mike Remmers for a visit and many anticipated the two sides reaching a deal.

Despite a positive meeting, that did not happen and Remmers left East Rutherford without a contract.

However, Remmers’ representation, Brett Tessler, said the two sides share a mutual interest and that there’s a “good chance” they come together on a deal in the near future.

Currently, the Giants are lacking depth at the tackle positions and would still be forced to rely on Chad Wheeler on the right side, so don’t expect this to end their pursuit of additional hog mollies.

It’s likely Remmers will take a few more free agent visits before ultimately deciding on his next destination, but in the mean time, it’s back to the hunt for general manager Dave Gettleman and the Giants.
