Giants met with Quinnen Williams, will meet with Tytus Howard

What the New York Giants intend to do in the 2019 NFL Draft is anyone’s guess at this point, and general manager Dave Gettleman isn’t at all interested in clearing that up for the curious.

“Really and truly, very honestly, it’s not my responsibility to tell you guys what I’m doing. Just like it’s not my responsibility to respond to every rumor that comes down the pike. That’s not my job. It’s not my responsibility,” Gettleman told reporters on Monday. “Trust me, we’ve got a plan. Over time, you’ve got to be patient. Everybody wants answers now in this instant-gratification society, instant-gratification world, and everybody wants answers now. Over time, you’ll see it. You’ve got to trust it.”

What we do know is that Giants head coach Pat Shurmur and offensive coordinator Mike Shula will be on hand for Ohio State’s Pro Day on Wednesday.

We also know that the Giants met with Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams on Monday night and that defensive coordinator James Bettcher will be present and accounted for during the team’s Pro Day on Tuesday.

Additionally, after having dinner with Williams on Monday, the Giants intend to meet with Alabama offensive tackle Tytus Howard at some point on Tuesday.

The Giants are obviously doing their due-diligence when it comes to prospects within their range, but it’s worth noting when names like Shurmur, Shula and Bettcher are present.

Could these meeting indicate greater interest? Possibly, but we won’t have those answers — or any answers — until the Giants are finally on the clock in April.
