Giants meet with Nick Bosa at Ohio State Pro Day

The New York Giants sent a substantial contingent to the Ohio State Pro Day on Wednesday, including assistant general manager Kevin Abrams, head coach Pat Shurmur and offensive coordinator Mike Shula.

Their first order of business was to meet with quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who actually joined them for dinner on Tuesday night, but he doesn’t represent the Giants’ only potential interest.

New York will also meet with highly-touted defensive end Nick Bosa, the younger brother of Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Joey Bosa.

With a need for pass rushers, it’s no surprise the Giants would check in on Bosa, who many consider a potential top 5 pick.

If Bosa were to fall to the Giants, he’d be a no-brainier, but chances are, similar to Haskins, general manager Dave Gettleman might have to trade up if the Giants wanted a legitimate shot to land him.

Here’s a quick look at what out friends at Draft Wire have to say about Bosa:

Bosa’s 2018 season was cut short due to a season-ending core injury in October. Consistently flashing his dominance against offensive tackles while at Ohio State, Bosa is set to be an impact player in the NFL.

He’s extremely projectable and fits almost every defensive scheme with the versatility to be moved all up and down the line. Bosa is a physically imposing player, as he flashes dominate traits as both a pass rusher and run defender. He’s proficient and strong with his hand usage, burst off the line of scrimmage and high effort to get in the backfield.

Bosa understands how to shed blocks and exploit weaknesses of his opponent. His football IQ, quickness, agility, and athleticism are all above average. Bosa is just scratching the surface of his potential and should be one of the best defensive playmakers in years to come.

It’s anyone’s guess how the 2019 NFL Draft will shape up, but it remains unlikely the Giants would get lucky enough to snag Bosa at No. 6, and certainly not at No. 17.
