Giants’ Lorenzo Carter, Ryan Connelly suffer injuries in win over Redskins

The New York Giants dominated the decimated Washington Redskins on Sunday, 24-3, but did not come away unscathed.

Rookie linebacker Ryan Connelly, who had a sack and an interception in the game, sustained a knee injury in the second half and did not return.

Connelly went down without making contact — which is always a concerning sight — and eventually had to be carted off the field. The Giants had no additional update after the game.

Outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter also left the game in the second half with a neck injury and didn’t return. The Giants were left with backups and defensive backs to pick up the slack in the fourth quarter.

Wide receiver Sterling Shepard was seen getting his hamstring stretched late in the game and was not on the field for the Giants’ last two drives. Shepard had seven receptions for 76 yards in the game.
