Giants list 11 players as inactive vs. Jets

The New York Giants will open their preseason slate against the New York Jets on Thursday night at MetLife Stadium, but will be without at least 11 players.

Although the NFL does not have an official injury report during the preseason, the Giants have announced that the following 11 players will be inactive:

• WR Amba Etta-Tawo (hamstring)
• WR Sterling Shepard (thumb)
• CB Sam Beal (hamstring)
• CB Antonio Hamilton (groin)
• CB Grant Haley (shoulder)
• OT Chad Wheeler (back)
• OT Brian Mihalik (burner)
• OT George Asafo-Adjei (concussion)
• WR Brittan Golden (groin)
• WR Darius Slayton (hamstring)
• OLB Avery Moss (hip flexor)

In addition to those 11 players, there are conflicting reports on whether or not players like quarterback Eli Manning and running back Saquon Barkley will suit up.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan suggests that both players will sit this one out.

However, Art Stapleton of USA TODAY reports that Manning will start and play one or two series before giving way to rookie Daniel Jones.
