Report: Giants ‘laughed’ at Browns’ trade offer for Odell Beckham Jr.

It seems the Odell Beckham Jr.-to-Cleveland fervor was much ado about nothing.

In an interview with 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, NFL Network reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala poured cold water all over the intensity of the trade rumor and excitement that gripped Browns fans earlier this week.

“I had been told that Kevin Zeitler, Emmanuel Ogbah and another player had been offered for Beckham, (which was) run by a longtime member of the Giants organization, who laughed (at the offer),” Kinkhabwala said.

It seems the Giants, as often reported by New York media who cover the team, aren’t really looking to trade Beckham.

“I wouldn’t feel confident describing (the rumors) as serious. I think it’s the time of year where there are lots and lots and lots of conversations,” Kinkhabwala added.

But she did give credit to the Browns.

“John Dorsey is not afraid to be aggressive. He’s not afraid to make bold moves,” she said. “This is clearly a team that feels it’s on the precipice of doing something significant. Not just having a winning season but making the playoffs, making a run of some kind. He’s not going to be afraid to go out and do something like that.”

Perhaps the most pertinent takeaway is that Dorsey and the Browns made (what seems like) a fairly big offer and they aren’t afraid to aggressively go after one of the best players in the NFL.
