The rumblings on social media are that the New York Giants could move on from general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll after this season.
That would mean that the Giants will have not only not given Schoen the required three seasons to install his plan, but it will also mean the Giants will have cycled through another head coach after just two seasons.
Schoen and Daboll were hired in January of 2022 and ownership and the fan base were satisfied. 18 months and a 12-16-1 record (including playoffs) later, the sentiment has soured and suddenly both men sit on seats that are warming.
Don’t believe it. Many who have knowledge of the situation are confident Schoen and Daboll will be back — at least for one more season.
Daniel Jones will be back next season for the #Giants. And barring something drastic, it’s my understanding that GM Joe Schoen and HC Brian Daboll will as well.

Ownership has to realize that the new regime has not been able to fully implement their vision. Quarterback Daniel Jones, drafted by Schoen’s predecessor Dave Gettleman, was endorsed by Giants co-owner John Mara and signed to a four-year deal before the season.
No one is quite sure that Jones is the duo’s top choice to take the team into the future, although it was ultimately their final decision to sign the quarterback long-term.
Still, should they finish with one of the top two selections in next spring’s NFL draft, we’ll see if they can resist taking a top quarterback.
If they do resist, then they will remain tied to Jones, and thus far that hasn’t worked out for anyone. But DJ is far from the Giants’ only problem as most personnel decisions have fallen flat under this regime.
